Potato Stamped Pumpkin Cards

Get crafty this fall with this simple craft! Try your hand at making these fun and easy potato stamped jack-o-lantern face cards.

Craft Supplies:

  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Adhesive
  • Pre-Folded Cardstock Card
  • Scissors
  • 1 – Large sized Raw Potato
  • Knife – adult use only!
  • Orange Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – if you haven’t made your cardstock card yet, go ahead and do that. I made mine a basic square shape but yours can be any shape or size you like!
  • Go ahead and also cut out a piece of white cardstock, that will fit to the front of your card. This is where we will be making our stamped pumpkin design on.
  • Secure the white cardstock piece to the front of the card with a glue stick.
  • Now grab your large, raw potato and knife.
  • Cut your potato in half. You only need ONE potato half for your craft. This is your new stamp for the pumpkin.
  • Squirt some orange craft paint on your paper plate.
  • Take the potato “stamp” and rub it in the orange craft paint, until it’s completely covered.
  • Now take it and stamp it in the center of your card you made earlier.
  • Lift up your potato from the paper and lay it back down on the paper plate.
  • Set aside to the card to allow the paint to dry completely.
  • Repeat the above steps for each card.
  • To finish off the potato stamped pumpkin card, use the Sharpie marker to draw on jack-o-lantern/pumpkin features. Think triangles, squiggles and a stem for the top.
  • Follow that up by writing “Happy Halloween” or “Happy Fall” around the pumpkin design, as well as writing anything you like inside.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit, before gifting away your stamped jack-o-lantern card proudly!
  • Discard the used potato afterwards {please do not attempt to eat it afterwards.}
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us on your social media sites! We can’t wait to see your Halloween potato prints in action! #gluedtomycrafts

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
