You Are My Sunshine Craft Supplies:
* Free Template Printable {download HERE}
* White Cardstock
* Color Printer
* Paper Trimmer or Scissors
* Blue Cardstock
* Glue Stick
* Yellow Craft Paint
* Paint Brush
* Paper Plate
* Baby Wipes
optional – embellishments like glitter, stickers, crayons etc.
Directions:
* First download the “you are my sunshine”printable, listed above.
* Print it in color on a single sheet of white cardstock.
* Depending on your printer, you might have to “trim” the printable slightly around the edges to remove unwanted white space. You can do this with some scissors or a paper trimmer.
* Now that the printable got slightly smaller, go ahead and glue it to a single sheet of blue cardstock. This gives it a nice framed look, as well as adding some thickness to the craft.
* Next up, grab your yellow craft paint and paper plate.
* Squirt some paint on the paper plate. One at a time {each hand} paint your child’s hand completely yellow and press it where the sun is in the printable. You will want the fingertips to go outward, to look like rays of light coming from the sun.
* Repeat for the other hand.
* Use the baby wipes to remove paint from hands.
* Set aside to let it dry completely.
* Add other embellishments you see fit {like maybe drawing in some clouds with a blue crayon} as well as having children sign the bottom.
* Then display/gift away your child’s “you are my sunshine” print proudly!
