Hatching Baby Dinosaur Craft Idea For Kids

Get ready for some crafting fun with our step-by-step tutorial on how to make a craft foam egg hatching baby dinosaur!

Craft Supplies:

  • Dinosaur Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Foam Egg Shapes
  • Paint Markers
  • Stapler
  • Glue Stick

Directions:

  • First things first – print the FREE dinosaur head printable listed above. You only need to print one, on a single sheet of white cardstock. This will give you FOUR DIFFERENT DINOSAUR HEADS for four cracked egg crafts.
  • Next go ahead and trim out EACH dinosaur head in the printable. Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab ONE craft foam egg shape per dinosaur craft. Cut it in half, to resemble a cracked egg.
  • Now take your choice of decorating medium and decorate the craft foam egg shape halves you just made, however you like.
  • When done, set them aside to let them dry a bit.
  • Finally – the last step. Grab all your various pieces, along with your glue stick and hand-held stapler.
  • Staple the two craft foam egg pieces back together to look like a “hatching” egg.
  • Follow that up by gluing in the dinosaur head cutout, to the back of the pieced together egg shapes. Your new friends should look like they are peeking out of the cracked eggs now.
  • And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying your Hatching Baby Dinosaur Pieces proudly for ALL to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
