Let’s step take a step “outside the traditional” for a minute and instead of giving our “gingerbread men shapes” the same ole’ boring look this holiday season, while not make them into GINGERBREAD REINDEER BALLERINA FRIENDS instead!
Yes – you read that right! Who says those ordinary gingerbread man craft shapes and kits you typically find this time of year, have to be boring and decorated just as is?
Why can’t we take them a little outside the traditional and make them into other fun holiday characters instead?!
I mean hello? Aren’t my GIngerbread Reindeer Ballerina Friends super cute?! And you can customize them however you like!!!
So with ALL that being said, I want to challenge YOU to do this craft with your child today! I found my particular pre-cut gingerbread man felt pieces at Michaels recently but Dollar Tree also has some craft foam shapes for sale right now, as well. From there, you will just need to raid your craft stash for some colorful cupcake liners, gold craft foam, some adhesive and small wiggle eyes.
Ready to take on the challenge? I sure hope so! Happy crafting, my friends! #gluedtomycrafts
Gingerbread Reindeer Ballerinas Craft Supplies:
- Felt GIngerbread Men {affiliate to similar that are CRAFT FOAM though}
- Tacky Glue or Hot Glue Gun {with adult supervision, of course!}
- Cupcake Liners in various Christmas colors {affiliate link}
- Small Wiggle Eyes
- Small Red Pom Poms
- Small Bows
- Gold Craft Foam

Directions:
- First things first. Grab ONE gingerbread shape per ballerina. Set aside.
- Pick out a single cupcake liner for your ballerina. Fold and flatten the cupcake liner with your hands, to make a “tutu” for your gingerbread reindeer ballerina. Set aside.
- Grab your gold craft foam. Cut out antlers and ballerina slippers out of it. Set aside.
- Now for the fun part! Use your choice of adhesive to glue on the wiggle eyes, cupcake liner tutu, pom pom nose, antlers etc. to the gingerbread felt piece.
- Add other embellishments if desired.
- Repeat the above steps for EACH reindeer you want to make.
- When done decorating, be sure to set your ballerina pieces aside in an undisturbed area, to allow them to dry completely.
- For added fun, if desired, you can hot glue ribbon to the back for hanging on a tree as an ornament OR hot glue a popsicle stick to the back for puppet play. So many ideas and we hope you run with it!
