Mixed Media Leaf Hair and Crown - Fall Kid Craft

This fun and easy mixed media craft project is perfect for kids! They can create a beautiful leaf hair crown or headband on paper!

Mixed Media Leaf Hair and Crown - Fall Kid Craft

Paper and decorative leaves come together for this fun Mixed Media Leaf Hair and Crown fall kid craft idea!

Once upon a time… I posted a kid craft tutorial titled “Silly Leaf Hair.” It’s basically just craft foam faces and decorative plastic leaves to make the hair. Nothing elaborate.

Confession and some real talk from me. There are tutorials on Glued To My Crafts, that I sometimes post but actually cringe at.

I usually have these moments when I “think” the idea didn’t go right but I talk myself into posting them anyways because I figure “you bought the materials – you spent the time – you might as well just take the pictures and at least “hope” they inspire someone.”

Well… that’s exactly what happened with our Silly Leaf Hair tutorial {and believe it or not – the Thumbprint Dandelion post that still have viral juice to it!} I “thought” my vision on the idea didn’t work or look right {I actually thought it was lame!} but I rolled with it anyways.

Now that particular post {from 2015} is still one of my top tutorials every fall. Apparently people DO like it and I probably should be less critical of myself! It always amazes me what I “think” will be popular on our site but then isn’t and then the stuff I really don’t “love” becomes the next best thing….craziness.

Anyways, as a way to expand on that particular idea {because that’s just what I love to do around here!} I came up with a printable to make it easier for people to recreate this flower crown craft idea {especially in a large setting!} After all – not everyone can get those craft foam head/faces from Michaels but pretty much everyone has access to a printer these days.

So anyways – find the full “Mixed Media Leaf Hair and Crown” tutorial and free printable below! “Hopefully” you guys love this idea!! Let’s make it go viral 😉 Happy crafting, my friends!!
