With summer just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about fun and creative activities to do with your kids.
If you’re looking for a project that will spark their imagination and bring out their inner artist, look no further than this paper seashell unicorn craft!
Kids of all ages will love creating their very own magical creatures using simple materials like paper, yarn, and glue. This DIY craft is not only easy to make but also encourages fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and imaginative play.
So get ready to dive into the world of mythical creatures and embark on a crafting adventure with your little ones!
Get creative and make some magic with your little ones! This paper seashell unicorn craft is a great way to keep their imaginations running wild. Let’s see what you can come up with!
Craft Supplies:
- Seashell Printable – on our landing page
- White Cardstock Paper
- Crayons, Pencils, Markers etc.
- Scissors
- Pink Cardstock Paper
- Glitter Cardstock Paper
- Adhesive
- Large Wiggle Eyes
- Craft Yarn
- Embellishments
Directions:
- First things first – download our free seashell printable, listed above in the supply list.
- Next, go ahead and find it on your computer, right click and print the file on a single sheet of white cardstock. One print equals one unicorn craft.
- Now that you have the printable, go ahead and color in the seashell design, however you like {I used a light shade of tan for mine.}
- When done coloring in the seashell piece, use your craft scissors to trim it out from the paper.
- Discard excess paper.
- Now grab your remaining cardstock paper and scissors.
- Cut out a large triangle horn, petal shaped ears and oval nose for your unicorn.
- Set all the paper pieces aside when you are done.
- Now grab the craft yarn and the scissors again.
- Cut a handful of 4 inch pieces of yarn {maybe 10-20 strands depending on how full you want the hair to be.}
- Cut off another piece of yarn and tie it around the center of your yarn bunch. This will the unicorn’s hair.
- To finish off your Paper Seashell Unicorn, glue their cardstock pieces in place, as well stapling on the yarn hair to the top of the seashell design.
- Follow that up by gluing down the wiggle eyes as well.
- To finish it off, add the custom elements like lines of glitter glue and sequins.
- Then allow your piece to dry completely before you display your custom one-of-a-kind seashell unicorn head piece proudly for all to see!
