You can also add materials to reflect personality and style, while still keeping the price on the cheap! We are talking CENTS to pull this Valentine-themed craft together today!

To complete this fabulous hot air balloon paper keepsake craft, all you need is a printer, craft paint and your child’s sweet little hand to make this DIY come to life! Not to mention, not only are you making sweet memories together, but you are also creating a great one-of-a-kind keepsake that anyone can treasure for years to come {plus the finished piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE hot air balloon printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some craft paint and have your children add their handprint to complete the craft. This Handprint You Make My Heart Float Hot Air Balloon Keepsake is super easy to make within minutes!

Craft Supplies:

  • Hot Air Balloon Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes
  • Scrapbook Stickers
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First print the free template printable on white cardstock paper.
  • Squirt some paint on a paper plate.
  • Using the foam brush, paint the palm of your child’s left hand and press it on the printable, anywhere on the balloon portion. It’s okay if the handprint is slightly off.
  • Clean your child’s hand with a baby wipe and a quick trip to the sink.
  • Next, while the paint is still wet, sprinkle some loose craft glitter on top.
  • Once done decorating it with the glitter, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Finally, the last step. Take some scrapbook stickers and spell out “You Make My Heart Float” around the printable.
  • If desired, add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter and heart stickers!}
  • Then display/gift away proudly!
