Our punny buttered toast card tutorial is a fun craft idea for kids to make and give as a gift to someone special on Valentine’s day!

Craft Supplies:

  • Punny Toast Printables – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers
  • Scissors
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue or Adhesive
  • Mini Wooden Clothespins

Directions:

  • First things first – print the TWO provided free butter half toast files listed above in the supply list.
  • Once you have both of the files printed out, grab your choice of coloring medium and scissors.
  • Color in your printables however you like but I highly suggest BROWN for the toast and YELLOW for the butter “heart” though.
  • When you are done coloring, cut out the toast shape, one heart butter shape, as well as one of the word boxes in the printable {per card you are making right now!} Save the other heart and word box in the printable, for the second card but discard excess paper from the toast printable.
  • Now grab one sheet of colored cardstock {any color you like!}
  • Go ahead and secure the colored in toast cutout in the center of the paper.
  • Follow that up with the word box underneath it.
  • Now grab your two clothespins and the heart “butter” cutout.
  • Pinch the two clothespins around the heart shape to make it look like “arms” from the toast.
  • Place a small amount of glue on the back of the clothespins and place them in the center of the paper toast piece.
  • Finally, to finish the paper punny toast card craft, add anything else you see fit before you allow it to dry completely.
  • Then display/give it away proudly for ALL to see and enjoy!
  • Repeat all the steps above to complete the other phrase and second card craft!
