Puffy Paint Cactus Craft Idea
With just simple supplies like shaving cream, school glue and the free cactus outline printable I’m providing today – you and your child can pull this “prick” free puffy paint cactus kid craft activity together in no time!
So don’t worry about the undesirable dirt, the constant watering OR the yucky mess! Seriously – who has time for all that?! This is THE craft to make this summer because it’s just plain ole fun for ANYONE!

Don’t be prickly, make a paper cactus friend! This easy craft is perfect for kids of all ages.
Craft Supplies:
- Free Blank Cactus Template Printable {GRAB THE FILE ON BOX.COM}
- Thick White Cardstock Paper
- Color Printer
- White Shaving Cream
- White School Glue
- Green Food Coloring
- Small Mixing Bowl
- Foam Paint Brush
- Pre-made Tulip Fabric Paint in Black
- Loose Black Craft Glitter
- Large Wiggle Eyes {two per cactus craft}
- Flower Stickers or Cutouts

Directions:
- First grab and print the FREE CACTUS PRINTABLE. You will want to print this file in color on thick cardstock and print one printable per child.
- Now you are ready to make your puffy paint! Place equal amounts of shaving cream and glue in a small dish.
- Mix together until well combined.
- Now add a drop of green food coloring and mix until you have a shade of green you like {remember, your puffy paint will also be a shade darker when completely dried}
- Once you have the consistency and color you like, have children “paint” their cactus in the provided printable. They will want to stay within the lines of the template.
- After children are done with the puffy paint step, have them “drop” the wiggle eyes on top of the wet puffy paint and draw on a smile with some pre-made Tulip Fabric Paint.
- Then have them finish off by shaking some black glitter all over, as well as adding some fun flower embellishments.
- Then set aside the masterpieces to let them dry completely before displaying proudly!
