It comes as no surprise {seriously – it’s no secret around here} but I absolutely LOVE sharing with you all my kid friendly craft tutorials that go along perfectly with some of our favorite children’s book.
So you better believe that today I’m SUPER excited to be adding another crafty idea to the blog archives. Today’s blog post is titled Puffy Paint Pizza and it’s gooey goodness goes perfectly along with the book – Secret Pizza Party by Adam Rubin. Plus with the FREE printable I’m including in today’s post, it’s as easy as 1,2,3!
How does Racoon love pizza? Oh, let him count the ways. He loves the gooey cheesy-ness, salty pepperoni-ness, sweet sweet tomato-ness, and of course the crispity crunchity crust. But someone is always chasing poor Raccoon away from his favorite food with a broom! What’s a hungry raccoon to do? Plan an elaborate secret pizza party, of course!
But shhh! It’s a secret! In fact, you should probably just forget I told you. Nope, no secret pizza party happening here.You didn’t already tell all your friends, did you? Uh oh . . .
Not only is the book a great read for children {you learn how the raccoon pulls off the perfect secret pizza party} but the craft itself is tons of fun and super easy for children of all ages. Paired together with the book {and perhaps some real pizza} it’s the perfect way to celebrate the afternoon away!
So what are you waiting for? This Puffy Paint Pizza idea isn’t going to make itself!!! Follow my step-by-step tutorial below, snag the free template and let the fun begin!
Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
Puffy Paint Pizza Supplies:

* Thick White Cardstock
* Color Printer
* White Shaving Cream
* White School Glue
* Yellow Food Coloring
* Small Mixing Bowl
* FOam Paint Brush
* Red Colored Cardstock
* Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
* Loose Green Craft Glitter
Directions:
* First download and print the FREE PIZZA PRINTABLE. You will want to print this file in color on thick cardstock and print one printable per child.
* Now you are ready to make your puffy paint! Place equal amounts of shaving cream and glue in a small dish. Mix together. Now add a drop of yellow food coloring and mix until you have a shade of “cheese” you like {remember, your puffy paint will also be a shade darker when completely dried}
* Once you have the consistency and color you like, have children “paint” their pizza slice in the provided printable. They will want to stay within the lines.
* After children are done with the puffy paint step, have them add pepperoni circles you have cut out of the red cardstock, on top of the wet puffy paint. Then have them finish off by shaking some green glitter all over for the seasoning.
* Then set aside the masterpieces to let them dry completely before displaying proudly!
