Our latest Popsicle Stick Superhero w/Handprint Cape kid craft idea is absolutely perfect for those crime-fighting littles in your life! Best part? Each superhero craft piece can be customized to fit the person who dreams of recreating them today!

We LOVE superhero themed crafts in our house and that’s exactly what inspired this post on Glued To My Crafts! Our tutorial is not only SUPER easy to recreate within minutes but with the handprint paper element as the superhero’s cape, it’s also a great keepsake token too! You could even turn these precious pieces into puppets if you want to by gluing another wood piece to the back for holding. So many ideas, I just hope we inspire you to run with it!

Looking for a fun and easy craft project for your kids? They’ll love making this popsicle stick superhero complete with a handprint cape!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Wood Craft Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Craft Paint
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Small Wiggle Eyes – 2 per craft
  • Craft Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Black Marker
  • Tulip Puffy Paint

Directions:

  • First grab three craft sticks {three per superhero} and glue them together to look like a triangle.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each superhero craft you want to make.
  • While that is drying, grab some cardstock and/or scrapbook paper and cut a triangle that will fit inside the craft stick design. This will be the superhero’s body.
  • With another sheet of paper, trace/trim out a handprint cutout that will be the superhero’s cape.
  • At this time, you should also cut out the a head, arms, legs, mask, underwear etc. from the remaining paper. Really allow the creative spirit to come out on this step!
  • To finish off this Popsicle Stick Superhero craft, have children glue their paper pieces in place on the craft stick shape and top off with any other embellishments they see fit.
  • Be sure to also glue on wiggle eyes, draw on an “S” with the puffy paint in the center and draw on a smile with a marker.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
