RELATED: Valentine Love Bug and Craft Foam Heart Foxes
These cute little Valentine’s Day bugs will brighten up your day, with their cheerful colors and delightful smiles.
Craft Supplies:
- Flat Wooden Clothespins
- Black Craft Paint
- White Craft Paint
- Small Paint Brushes
- Small Paper Plate
- Small Felt Heart Shapes
- Mini Felt Heart Shapes
- Black Craft Felt
- Craft Scissors
- Thick Tacky Glue or Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
- First squirt your white & black paint on the paper plate.
- Have children paint one side of their clothespins {one per love bug} completely white {or any other color your child likes!}
- Go ahead and also add two small black eyes with a fine tip brush.
- When done painting, set them aside to allow them to dry completely.
- Next grab your black craft felt, small foam hearts, glue and scissors.
- Cut out a set of antennas from the felt and add craft foam hearts, with glue, to the tips for a Valentine look.
- Repeat for each love bug you are making.
- Now grab your two larger pre-cut heart shapes for the wings and the felt antennas you just cut out.
- Go ahead and glue those to the back of your painted clothespins from the first step.
- To finish off the clothespin love bug craft– have children decorate the wings and the body however they like. We used our remaining foam hearts to decorate ours but you can always use glitter glue, rhinestones etc.
- Then once you are done decorating, set it all aside to let it dry completely before playing and/or displaying proudly!!!
