Today’s kid friendly Twine Wrapped Acorns kid craft idea is perfect for practicing those fine motor skills, as well as making some adorable pieces to admire this fall season!
Not only does it have a fall theme to it but it can also be easily incorporated in to your Thanksgiving plans to keep the kids busy.
With just some wood cutouts, twine and cardstock – we were able to pull this kid friendly craft together in no time. PLUS it works those fine motor skills too {my favorite part!} Overall it’s super simple to pull together {even for adults} and really inexpensive too. Just the way we like it around here!
Find all the details below! Happy crafting, my friends! #gluedtomycrafts
Twine Wrapped Acorns Craft Supplies:
* Gold Twine {or any other color you might have}
* Wooden Scoop Sticks
* Wood Oval Plaques {ours are 3″ x 4.5″ from Hobby Lobby but these are similar}
* Brown Craft Paint
* Paint Brush
* Brown Cardstock
* Craft Scissors
Directions:
* First you will want to paint your wood pieces brown {one oval and one scoop stick per acorn} Set aside to let them dry completely.
* Next glue your scoop stick to one end of the oval piece. This will be the acorn’s stem.
* Now get your twine ready! Glue the beginning section in the center of the wood piece. Carefully – have children wrap the twine over and over again, until the center is completely covered. Secure it.
* To finish off the Twine Wrapped Acorns – cut out a top piece for the acorn from the brown cardstock. Glue it your wood piece. Set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
