Apple Core Popsicle Stick Craft

Since the back-to-school season is just around the corner, today I’m sharing another kid friendly apple activity that is SUPER simple for kids of all ages to pull together, to celebrate the season & moment in time!
This Popsicle Stick Apple Core craft tutorial has a back-to-school theme, as well as a fall apple picking theme {it’s never too early to plan!} And it’s just that – a simple apple core design made out of wood popsicle sticks, some colored cardstock paper and school glue. Sounds super easy, right? And inexpensive too!

Now that I have encouraged you to recreate it with your child today, let’s grab our craft supplies and get to the step-by-step apple kids craft tutorial below! Then join your child as you make craft stick apple core pieces together!

Popsicle Stick Apple Core

Looking for a fun craft idea to keep the kids busy? Make an apple core out of popsicle sticks! With a few simple supplies and some imagination, this project is sure to keep them entertained.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – glue your various popsicle sticks together to look like a door {3 jumbo next to each other with two mini across}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each apple core craft you want to make today.
  • Next grab your various colors of cardstock paper {red or green for your apple} and scissors.
  • Cut out two half-circle halves to be the top and bottom of your apple.
  • At this point in time you should also cut out a stem and leaf from the brown and remaining green cardstock.
  • To finish off your Popsicle Stick Apple Core kid craft – have children glue on their cardstock pieces, as well drawing on some “seeds” in the center of the popsicle stick design.
  • Then let it all sit aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
