Race Cars Made From Popsicle Sticks

Zoom! Zoom! Are you or a close family member fans of racing?

Are you a crafty mom looking for ideas to keep the little ones busy during the upcoming race day event?

If you are – you are in the right place because today’s Popsicle Stick Race Cars kid craft idea is PERFECT for race fans to create and show off with a “pit stop” on the craft table!

This race day themed kid craft is completely customizable when it comes to the colors and of course – it’s super easy, inexpensive and fun for all ages as well! These cars don’t require fancy tools OR a big wallet either. It’s just plain ole’ simple crafty fun that will keep the little ones excited and busy during the main event! Did I mention they also make for awesome decor as well?!

Super FAST Popsicle Stick Race Cars - Kid Craft Tutorial Super FAST Popsicle Stick Race Cars - Kid Craft Tutorial

This popsicle stick race cars craft is a perfect boredom-buster for kids! It’s easy to make and tons of fun!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • Small Circle Punch
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Race Car Stickers
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • Grab THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini sized ones.
  • Lay the three popsicle sticks next to each other, one by one, on a flat surface.
  • Now grab your other two mini popsicle sticks and glue them the other direction to create a fence.
  • Once all the popsicle sticks are glued together, set aside to let it all dry completely.
  • Repeat for each car you want to make.
  • When dry have children paint the front of their popsicle stick shape however they like, while you cut out some wheels & other car features from the cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Race Cars, glue the cardstock pieces in place on the popsicle stick frame, as well as any other embellishments you see fit {think rhinestones, glitter, race car themed stickers}
  • Then display or show off proudly!
