Painted Handprint Frog Keepsake Craft Idea For Kids

Frog Handprint Keepsake

Inspired by a book we recently picked up at our local Kohls {It’s Mine by Leo Lionni} today I present to YOU our Handprint Frog Keepsake w/free printable template idea!

This Handprint Frog Keepsake craft is is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too. If you have a printer in your home – you are well on your way to pulling this together and creating a great keepsake to treasure for years to come {plus the finished piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE gender-neutral printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their handprint to complete the green frog craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

So let’s HOP to it! Download the file below and get to work on creating this adorable frog themed keepsake. Then place in a beautiful frame or in a scrapbook for the lucky receiver. {Don’t forget to read the book either!}

Painted Handprint Frog Keepsake Craft Idea For Kids

This handprint frog keepsake craft is perfect for kids of all ages! It’s an easy and fun acitivity to commemorate a special day or moment.

Craft Supplies:

  • Lily Pad Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Green Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First print the free lily pad template printable {listed above} in color on white paper. You only need ONE printable per frog craft.
  • Next up, squirt some green craft paint on a paper plate.
  • Paint one of your child’s hands and press it in the center of the printable to create the body of the frog. The fingers will the frog legs so make sure they are facing downwards.
  • Use baby wipes to clean off excess paint.
  • To finish off the hand print frog, add some facial features such as a tongue and eyes with a marker and add any other embellishments {like stars, glitter, rhinestones} you see fit.
  • Then display/gift away the finished handprint frog keepsake piece proudly!
