Tissue Paper & Paper Plate Pig

Tissue Paper & Paper Plate Pig - Kid Craft Idea

Paper Plate Pink Piggie Craft

Everyone knows the story of “The Three Little Pigs.” Right? It’s one of those classics that pretty much everyone knows.

On that note, it’s actually one of our current favorites in my house, along with counting toes as piggies and singing Old McDonald on the top of my lungs. I always get tons of giggles after my performance and few oinks out of it too. I’m taking it all as encouragement to take my show on the road. HA! 😉

Although today’s toddler friendly pig kid craft idea has nothing to do with any particular pig story per say {I know I ramble sometimes!} it does go with the theme of pigs. You easily could tie it into the story of the Three Little Pigs, Olivia, Miss Piggy or any other pig themed books you might have on hand.

In fact, before I wrote this post, I searched on Amazon for book examples and there were a ton! This gives you an arrangement of ways to tie this tutorial into story time and craft time, at the same time.

So enough rambling from me – below is the FULL tutorial on this Paper Plate Piggy kid craft idea if you would like to recreate it with your child today. I sure hope you at least give it a try!

Happy crafting, my friends! Please don’t forget to share pictures of your finished tissue paper and paper plate pig creations with us on our Facebook page afterwards, so we can give you a virtual high five from a far! I can’t wait to see your piggy friends in action!#gluedtomycrafts

  • While your child is covering their paper plate with tissue paper, cut out some ears, eyes and large snout for the piggy, from your construction paper.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Pig kid craft, simply staple/glue the construction paper piece to the tissue paper covered plate.
  • Then set it all aside, to let it dry completely.
  • Display proudly for ALL to see!
  • Once it’s dry, it’s time to assemble. Stack your items in this order – big plate on bottom, little plate in middle and cup on top. Add glue to each piece so it stays together.
