Paper Plate & Chalk Art Minion - Kid Craft Idea For A Movie Night

Paper Plate & Chalk Art Minion Craft Idea For A Movie Night

You guys – I’ve done it again with another paper plate and chalk mashup! This time it’s titled “chalk art minion” and it’s perfect to make before or after you watch the movie!

I just can’t stop thinking of NEW ways to bring these two unsuspecting materials together, in a creative and never before seen way! Today I’m super excited to be sharing MY unique version of a MINION with this fun technique and I hope you love it as much as I do! We are going to give our minion friends some epic hair that is going to make he or she stand out from the crowd!

Our latest and greatest minion craft idea can be easily paired with any of the movies from the franchise {especially the new one coming out next year!} This quirky and rather unique idea uses super inexpensive materials such as sidewalk chalk, paper and a small paper plate. That’s it! Materials you probably have on hand right now.

Best part, just like a real minion, kids can customize their new smiling friend however they like so they stand out from the other minions in the crowd!

Now what are we waiting for?! All the details can be found below in our step-by-step tutorial. Don’t let this crafty idea slip away because I just KNOW it’s going to put a smile on anyone’s face – promise! Bookmark this very post and later this week, make some “one-of-a-kind” chalk art and paper plate minions with your child. Then show off those creations with us! We love seeing those pics so tag us on Facebook or use our #gluedtomycrafts on Instagram for us to see!

Happy crafting, my dear friends! I can’t wait to see your paper and chalk minion hair creations!

Customize It:

  • Don’t have black chalk on hand?! No worries! You can easily substitute the chalk for a black marker or crayon instead. Less mess and maybe less stress too!
  • Remember – you can also buy pre-colored paper plates {from a birthday aisle or maybe even a party store} to skip the hassle of painting a paper plate yellow!
  • Also – keep in mind that each minion had his/her own flair and style in the movie. Not all of them were the same so be sure to pull out various sized wiggle eyes and different materials to make your minion creation stand out!
