Cardboard Minion Craft Idea
Who loves the movie Despicable Me? Are you waving your hand up high like me?!
It’s actually one of the few kid movies, I’m currently able to sit through and enjoy without getting bored {short attention span problems!}
Lil man {the child who doesn’t sit still at all at this age} even sits down to watch all of it in one sitting. He always points out the yellow Minions as they wiggle and giggle across the screen.
So… you might have already guessed, our love for this kid friendly movie is what inspired me today, to this SUPER EASY cardboard tube minion craft idea with you all! They double as “puppets” and you can either use recycled toilet paper rolls {hello cheap!} or grab a few manufactured ones from your local craft store. The choice is yours!
On that note, are ready to see them so you recreate them with your child today? Keep scrolling for all the details and get ready to make some of your own Minion Craft Tube Puppets today! I just know you are going to have a blast making one with your child as well! Happy crafting! #gluedtomycrafts

I challenge you and your kiddo to create this adorable cardboard tube minion craft! With just a few supplies, you can make something that’s sure to bring a smile to your faces.
Craft Supplies:
- Toilet Paper Rolls
- Yellow Craft Paint
- Small Paper Plate
- Foam Paint Brush
- Craft Scissors
- Construction Paper – blue, gray and black
- Low Temp Hot Glue Gun
- Black Sharpie Marker
Directions:
- First squirt some yellow craft paint on the paper plate.
- Go ahead and paint your toilet paper rolls completely yellow. You don’t even have to cover the whole roll, but if you do – no problem! I just say the whole thing doesn’t have to covered, because one half will be covered with the blue construction paper.
- Once you got the paint down, set them aside to let it completely dry.
- While you are waiting, cut your construction paper pieces out. Out of blue construction paper I cut strips for the minions pants and the gray & white I did the goggles/his eyes.
- Once your toilet paper rolls are dry, it’s time to hot glue it all together. The strip of blue cardstock paper goes around the bottom to give them pants. The eyes will go towards the top, right above his paint.
- To finish them off, draw on hair & a smile. And you are done! Play with your cardboard tube minion like he is peg doll!
