Class Of Handprint Keepsake Idea For Preschool or Kindergarten Graduation

Preschool and kindergarten graduation season is upon us and today I’m sharing another SUPER SIMPLE kid craft idea that can be easily framed and turned into a keepsake within minutes.

Educators or caretakers can then gift the child’s beautiful creation to their parents, grandparents or even another fellow teacher on the big day!

This Handprint “Class of” Apple w/free printable template is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too. If you have a color printer on hand – you are well on your way to pulling this together and creating a great keepsake that ANYONE will treasure for years to come {plus the finished piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE printable for your enjoyment, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some red washable craft paint and have your children add their handprint apple {on top of the books} to complete the craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Handprint "Class of" Apple Keepsake Idea For Preschool or Kindergarten Graduation

With just a few simple materials, your child can create something unique and special that you’ll treasure for years to come.

Craft Supplies:

  • Class of Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable, Red Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes
  • Black and Green Marker

Directions:

  • First grab and print the free graduation template printable {listed above} on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You will need one print per child.
  • Next up – grab your red craft paint, paint brush and paper plate.
  • Squirt a small amount of craft paint on a paper plate.
  • Now pick a hand. Any hand will do!
  • Paint the palm of child’s hand completely red.
  • Working quickly, press the painted hand onto the printable, on top of the book design.
  • Make sure you press and wiggle EACH finger so the paint really transfers onto the paper.
  • Now carefully lift up their hand from the printable.
  • Remove excess paint from their hand with a few baby wipes & a quick trip to the sink.
  • Go ahead and set aside the decorated printable to let the red paint dry completely.
  • When ready to finish the graduation “class of” keepsake craft, grab your two Sharpie marker colors.
  • Draw a black stem and green leaf on top of the handprint to make the apple design come to life.
  • If desired, add other embellishments you see fit {and write in the class year on the designed line on the printable.}
  • Then display/gift proudly! #gluedtomycrafts
