This fun and easy craft idea is perfect for kids of all ages! They will love creating a colorful duck pond scene with just paper and chalk.

Craft Supplies:

  • Yellow Duck Printable {on our spring landing page}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Blue Sidewalk Chalk
  • Baby Wipes
  • Adhesive

Directions:

  • First things first – download our provided yellow duckie printable, listed above in the supply list.
  • Next, go ahead and find it on your computer, right click and print the file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. One print provides you with TWO yellow ducks for this “Duck In Pond” craft idea. Print as many as you like but only use our file for personal use please.
  • Now that you have the printable, go ahead and grab your scissors.
  • Trim out both ducks. Pull one aside for your craft and save the other till later.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab a single sheet of black cardstock and your various pieces of blue sidewalk chalk.
  • Start envisioning your pond. Make several lines/circles in the center of the paper to make your water. Add as many lines and colors that you like. You want it to be nice and “full” though.
  • Use baby wipes to clean off excess chalk from fingers and hands.
  • When done with the chalk, go ahead and grab your yellow duck cutout from earlier & your glue stick.
  • Glue the shape to the center of your chalk art design you just made.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display your chalk art yellow duck in pond piece proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
