QUACK QUACK! We have been on a “truck” kick as of late on Glued To My Crafts and today we are adding a “duck” inspired one to the mix!

Paper Plate Duck Truck - Kid Craft Idea For Spring

Duck Truck Craft Idea For Kids

Today’s latest kid craft tutorial has TWO different ways to recreate it. One is more in line with a duck you would see in a pond and the other was inspired more by a rubber duckie. I highly encourage you to do BOTH with your child but I know life happens…

Anyways, I’ve taken a few of my son’s favorite things {he’s all about trucks these days} and made a PAPER MONSTER TRUCK DUCK craft tutorial that I’m super excited to be sharing right now. Hopefully you see my vision in both versions below!

Keep scrolling to see how I made these Paper Plate Duck Monster Trucks come to life with only a few paper pieces and tons of creativity. I was completely stumped on putting something in the back of each truck {like our recent Easter bunny version} but I couldn’t come up with anything {least, not yet!} Maybe you can help me out and share what you come up with?!

So my dear friends, all the details on the how-to can be found below. Hopefully the duck inspired craft tutorial comes easily tutorial for you!

Happy crafting, my friends! Please feel free to ALWAYS share pictures with us and let me know if you add anything to the back of your paper trucks. I seriously want to know! You can find me on Facebook or Instagram to share – hint hint! #gluedtomycrafts

Paper Plate Duck Truck - Kid Craft Idea For Spring Paper Plate Duck Truck - Kid Craft Idea For Spring

Let your child’s creativity run wild! Have fun crafting this adorably cuddly duck truck with your little ones using nothing more than paper plates, glue, and a few other materials!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per duck craft
  • Craft Scissors
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Glue Stick
  • Stapler
  • Large Scallop Paper Punch
  • Large Circle Paper Punch
  • Cupcake Liners

Directions:

  • First things first – decide what duck design you are going to make.
  • Now envision your paper plate like a pie. Cut off a small triangular section from the plate, to give a more defined look of the bed of the truck and it’s cab.
  • Discard the small piece you just cut off.
  • Next, go ahead and paint your paper plate piece completely with the coordinating craft paint. You will want to paint the paper plate plate completely yellow for the rubber duckie design, while half green half brown for the more realistic duck look.
  • Set aside your paper plate piece to let it dry completely.
  • Next up – grab all your paper pieces, paper punches and your scissors.
  • Cut out a long beak, large wheels, window and anything else you can think of to add.
  • While doing the above step, go ahead and also grab your coordinating cupcake liner to be the “feather” of the duck truck.
  • Fold it in half, then half again and secure together with some glue in the center {or a staple instead.}
  • Now go ahead and staple and/or use the glue stick to secure all the paper pieces on the painted paper plate. The cupcake liner “feather” will go where the door handle would normally be.
  • Go ahead and also glue on a small wiggle eye near the beak/window to give it some life.
  • Don’t forget to either draw or add a sticker friend, in the window/front seat of the truck. For added fun – add a mini picture of your child if you have one!
  • Finally – if desired, add anything else you like for that custom look, before displaying your creative duck truck craft piece proudly for all to see!
