With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this Paper Plate Valentine Love Bird Kid Craft idea is sure to be a crowd pleaser AND it doubles as a festive “lovestruck” decor piece as well!!!

Not only is this particular Valentine themed kid craft a great way to spend the afternoon BUT it’s also really fun & great for children of ALL ages {even those crafty adults who will want to make one too!} PLUS we have a FREE envelope printable below, that you bird can “carry” either in his mouth or from his legs. This outside the traditional element is what  I really think ties everything together for the theme.

Paper Plate Valentine Love Bird - Kid Craft

These adorable paper plate love birds are a perfect craft for kids this Valentine’s Day! They’ll love making these simple and sweet crafts.

Craft Supplies:

  • ENVELOPE printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Paper Plates
  • Scissors
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Foam Hearts/Stickers
  • Stapler
  • School Glue
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – take advantage of our free valentine envelopes printable above! Just download and print on white cardstock. Set aside.
  • Now grab your paper plate. There are TWO envelopes in the printable AND one paper plate makes TWO birds. Well – there you go! Cut your paper plate in half, straight up the center.
  • Go ahead and decorate your paper plate halves however you like to make them look like birds. Add paper legs, a triangle beak, wiggle eyes – whatever!
  • When you are done decorating – grab that envelope printable again. Trim out both designs from the paper.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Go ahead and staple the envelope on to your paper plate piece.
  • Add anything else you like to your valentine themed bird and display proudly for all to see!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • 1 Small Paper Plate
  • Cardstock Paper
  • VALENTINE'S DAY PRINTABLE - LANDING PAGE
  • 2 Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Craft Paint
  • Embellishments
  • 1 Scissors
  • Paint Brushes
  • 1 Stapler
  • School Glue

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:

  • First print out our provided printable, in color, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Now grab your paper plate. Cut your paper plate in half, straight up the center.
