Who doesn’t love baking cookies? Especially this time of year! So that’s exactly what inspired our latest Christmas craft tutorial but this time we are taking the baking inspiration and making it into a MIXED MEDIA art piece that ANYONE can recreate! No kitchen skills required on this paper DIY!
With today’s simple Gingerbread Cookies In Oven craft idea, you and your child can pretend to be “bakers” as you mix up and create some one-of-a-kind cookies to place in your pretend piece. Plus with the FREE OVEN PRINTABLE I’ve provided in this very post, I’ve made it SUPER EASY for you to whip up this craft with ease, meaning more time to play afterwards and perhaps make the real thing in celebration!!!

Paper Christmas Oven Craft Idea For Kids
Our cookie themed tutorial is a fun craft idea for kids that is quick, simple and easy to make! Just download, print and decorate!
Craft Supplies:
- Oven Printable {GRAB IT ON BOX.COM}
- Color Printer
- White Cardstock Paper
- Tan Cardstock Paper
- Aluminum Foil
- Craft Scissors
- Clear Contact Paper
- Pencil
- Various Colors in Sharpie Markers
- Gingerbread Man Cookie Cutter for Stencil

Directions:
- First print out the FREE Christmas oven craft template listed above. You will want one printable, per “cookie baking” craft.
- Grab your scissors and the oven printable.
- Trim out the oven shape, as well as the rectangle center from it.
- Discard excess paper. Set aside.
- Now grab your cookie cutter shape, pencil and tan cardstock.
- Trace/cut out a few cookies to be placed inside your oven.
- Decorate them with the Sharpie markers. Set aside.
- Next up – grab the aluminum foil and cut a thin strip for the “cookie sheet” that the cookie will lay on.
- Set aside.
- Now grab your clear contact paper.
- Cut out TWO pieces that are slightly bigger than the oven cutout.
- Remove the backing from one piece of contact paper.
- Lay it on a flat surface.
- Place the oven cutout, face down, on the contact paper.
- Next have children add their gingerbread man cutouts and aluminum piece inside.
- Once they are done creating the contents, grab the second piece of contact paper.
- Peel off the backing and place it on top of the other piece of contact paper, moving your hand around to “squish” everything together.
- To finish off the Gingerbread Men Cookies In Oven craft, use your scissors to trim around the oven/remove the excess contact paper.
- Then display proudly for all to see!

Instructions
- First print out our provided printable, in color, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need one print per craft.
