100 Days of School Flew By T-shirt - Feather Idea

100 Days of School Flew By T-shirt w/Craft Feathers

I know, I know… Trust me, I know! You are probably shaking your head at me right now because the back-to-school season just kicked off.

But you know the days are going to be flying by REALLY quick. Don’t blink – it will be fall break very soon, even if we don’t want it to be!

With the days potentially going fast in the next couple weeks, my motto is to ALWAYS be on top of the next “season.”

And if your school is like ours, you might be celebrating “100 days of school” very soon. It’s usually a BIG accomplishment and many schools do events on that day, in celebration. I’m not sure what my son’s class will be doing this year when they hit the 100th day but last year they did a party and several kids {and teachers} wore t-shirts in honor.

So to get a head start on the big day – I recently made this “100 days of school flew by” feather covered t-shirt. All the supplies are from Michaels and cost me around $10 to create. From there, Lil man and I went crazy with the hot glue gun and we made a “feathery” shirt that I’m sure will be perfect to celebrate the occasion.

If this is something you would like to recreate with your child today, keep scrolling for my quick how-to!

Then when you recreate it {and your child wears it proudly} come share some pictures on our Facebook page wall, so we can admire your hard work from a far! I can’t wait to see your complete “100 feather shirt” creations! Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts

100 Days of School Flew By T-shirt

Get your kids involved in their 100 day of school celebration with a custom DIY t-shirt!

Craft Supplies Needed:

  • If you would like to recreate this 100 days of school flew by shirt for your little one to wear, you will need a plain cotton shirt {any color you like} some letter stickers or iron ons, 100 craft feathers and a hot glue gun. I also suggest a large piece of cardstock to fit inside the shirt, so the hot glue doesn’t go through to the other side of the shirt, while you are working on it.

Directions:

  • First have children count out 100 craft feathers. Easy peasy learning fun!
  • Now lay your shirt out on a flat surface, with the front facing you. Place a piece of cardboard inside.
  • Next – stick the stickers that say “100 days flew by” in the center of the shirt.
  • Get that glue gun hot and ready!
  • Hot glue your craft feathers ALL OVER the shirt. You can use the front of the shirt and take advantage of the back as well.
  • Once you are gone hot gluing, let it sit for a bit while it all dries in place.
  • And that’s it! Then wear it on the special day and call it a celebration!
