Recently my son and I made this “Monster Truck” canvas keepsake to place in his room {because he is a HUGE Monster Jam fan} but I could see this DIY being gifted to someone who LOVES trucks, cars etc.

Honestly, I think this craft idea would be perfect as a DIY present for Father’s Day – hint hint!

Footprint Monster Truck Keepsake Canvas - Kid Craft Idea

Create a lasting memory and turn your kid’s tiny footprint into a monster truck keepsake canvas!

CRAFT SUPPLIES:

  • Large, Blank Canvas
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes

You can find ALL our favorite craft supplies via our AMAZON SHOP link!

DIRECTIONS:

  • To recreate your own Footprint Monster Truck, all you need to do is paint the bottom of your child’s choice of foot {left or right} in any color THEY like and press it in the center of the blank, white canvas.
  • Be sure to remove paint of their feet with a few baby wipes and soap/water afterwards.
  • Now you have the start of the truck. From there, children are going to paint {or draw} on their version of what they want their monster truck embellishments to look like. Have them start with big tires on the bottom and build from there. They can add lights, windows… maybe even add a flag on the back!
  • We also added some scenery like clouds, dirt under the truck etc. to really tie it all together and set the scene.
  • Then when they are done decorating it, set it aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
