We absolutely LOVE making and sharing keepsake printables on Glued To My Crafts, especially this time of year!

I’ve been rather busy around here and I have another SIMPLE DIY idea that can be easily framed and turned into a gift on the fly for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday.

This Handprint Hold My Hand Today But My Heart Forever w/free printable template is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too!

You can also add materials to reflect personality and style, while still keeping the price on the cheap! We are talking CENTS to pull this heart-themed craft together today!

In this post, I’ve included a FREE Valentine themed “hold my hand” printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some craft paint and have your children add their handprint to complete the craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Hold My Hand Today But My Heart Forever Keepsake

Place your finished painted handprint keepsake in a beautiful frame or in a scrapbook for the lucky receiver to enjoy on Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day!

Craft Supplies:

  • Free Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Large, Foam Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes
  • Cardstock Paper Scrapes
  • Heart Paper Punch
  • Adhesive
  • Black Marker

Directions:

  • First print out the free template printable on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Now squirt some washable craft paint on a paper plate. Dip the paint brush in the paint.
  • Next up – pick a hand, any hand!
  • Paint your child’s hand and press it down on the printable, anywhere you like.
  • Use baby wipes to clean off excess paint on their hand {as well as using soap & water at the sink.}
  • While the paint is still wet on the keepsake, sprinkle some glitter on top.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Finally, the last step. Take some cardstock and make a heart for the palm of the hand. Adhere it to the printable.
  • Have children sign their name in the blank spot.
  • If desired, add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter and scrapbook stickers!}
  • Then display/gift away your child’s “hold my hand today” paper keepsake proudly!
