I’ve even included a free flower printable {it’s the Glued To My Crafts’ way!} to get you started with ease. Then all you need to do is grab some paper, a few items for the holder and of course – your gift card. The supply list may seem “a little” overwhelming at first but I promise you, it’s super doable! I even suggest hitting up your local Dollar Tree to keep the budget low!

So don’t delay – find all the details below. Then help your child in the crafty making of this adorable flower gift card holder and get ready to see the lucky receiver light up with big smiles.

Don’t feel intimated either! Although I’m pushing this as a kid craft, you too can join them in the fun and color/create one of your own today, as well!

PAIR YOUR GIFT CARD FLOWER POT WITH —> Turn A Terra Cotta Pot Into A Unicorn

Kid Made Paper Flower Gift Card Holder

Craft Supplies:

  • Free Flower Printable {grab it on box.com}
  • 8.5 x 11″ White Cardstock Paper
  • Color Printer
  • Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers etc.
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Large Removable Glue Dots
  • Green Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Small 2.5″ x 3″ inch Terra Cotta Pot

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the FREE provided flower file, listed in the supply list above.
  • Print one flower printable per gift. Feel free to print and use our printable however you like but please only use it for personal or classroom use.
  • Once the printable is printed on the white cardstock, go ahead and color the flower however you like. Go to town on this step and really make it your own!
  • When done, use your scissors to trim out the flower. Discard excess paper.
  • Next, use a large glue dot to secure the decorated paper flower to a green jumbo popsicle stick.
  • Follow that up by using a glue dot {or two} to secure the gift card to the center of the flower. Set it aside.
  • Now grab your terra cotta pot and playdough.
  • Open up the playdough, discard the lid and place the tub inside the terra cotta pot.
  • Take your newly made “flower” and stick it inside the playdough, so it stands up nicely.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit and gift it away proudly!

Make it your own:

  • If playdough is not your thing, you can also use small decorate rocks or styrofoam to make the paper flower stand on it’s own. I just happened to have playdough on hand when I came up with this tutorial 🙂 I also felt the small tub of playdough was super easy to slide inside and later pull out with ease {in case the receiver wants to reuse the pot down the road!}
  • Don’t want to do a gift card? You can also add a small round picture of your child, to the center of the flower OR skip the “adding anything” part and just have children follow the crafting steps above & gift it as is!
  • One last tip – if children are feeling EXTRA crafty, they can also decorate the terra cotta pot with various craft paints and glitter for a fun custom touch that is sure to wow!
