Are you throwing a butterfly themed party soon? Maybe planning something for spring already?
Or maybe you are just here for a non-candy Valentine idea for your child. Whatever the reason – we at Glued To My Crafts have YOU covered with our Flutter-Worthy Butterfly Pencil Favor Idea! #gluedtomycrafts
Butterfly Pencil Party Favors For Valentine’s Day
Using inexpensive materials from Michaels and a little bit of bright colored Tulip Puffy Paint, you and your child can make some rock-star butterfly pieces that EVERYONE will love to receive!
No two pieces will be alike and that’s the BEST part in my opinion!
Pencils are always needed {whether in the classroom or at home} so this is the PERFECT non-candy treat to pass out for any holiday or special event!
Not to mention – it’s also great to give ANY time during the year season {not just for spring or Valentine’s Day!}
So let’s make them! Here’s the how-to:
To recreate this butterfly themed pencil party favor idea – you will need craft foam butterfly cutouts {I found mine at Michaels} a simple hole punch, Tulip puffy paint {affiliate link} and unsharpened pencils. You will need ONE butterfly piece PER pencil.
One by one, punch TWO holes into your craft foam butterfly, to allow the pencil to be threaded through them. You will want one hole towards the top and then another hole towards the bottom/tip of the butterfly.
Now decorate your butterflies! Although I suggest the puffy paint above, any kind of embellishment will do. Think glitter, cardstock, stickers, whatever the heart desires BUT please keep in mind you will be threading your pencil through the holes soon, so be sure to keep those open.
Once done decorating, set aside to let them dry completely.
Next is the FINAL step! Simply thread the unsharpened pencil through the two holes. Move the craft foam piece to the center of the pencil. Then repeat for each craft foam butterfly and gift away!!!
The fun doesn’t stop here!
We have TONS of DIY gift ideas in our Valentine’s Day section — some of which are perfect beyond the lovestruck holiday! Happy crafting {and gifting} my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
