Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • School Glue
  • White Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • Gold Glitter Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • First things first – grab your THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and glue them together in a simple triangle formation.
  • Set it aside to allow it to dry a bit. Repeat for each snowman house craft you want to create today.
  • When dry enough to touch, grab your popsicle stick shape, craft paint, paper plate and paint brush.
  • Squirt some white craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Use the paint brush to paint one side of the popsicle stick triangle shape completely.
  • Again, set it aside to allow it to dry completely.
  • Now grab your sheets of cardstock and scissors.
  • Cut out a large triangle from your white scrapbook paper or colored cardstock, that will fit inside the painted popsicle stick shape.
  • Out of the black cardstock, cut out a small hat for the roof.
  • Out of the brown cardstock, cut out a door and a rectangle piece for the chimney.
  • Out of the gray cardstock, cut out three circular windows.
  • Out of the gold glitter cardstock, cut out a “band” for the snowman hat.
  • Out of the orange cardstock, cut out a very small circle for the carrot nose/door knob.
  • Use the black Sharpie marker to give your paper pieces some dimension {like window pane lines and lines on the chimney piece}
  • When ready – it’s time to assemble! Grab all your paper pieces, popsicle stick shape and school glue.
  • Start off my gluing the triangle paper piece to the back of the painted popsicle stick shape.
  • Follow that up with the “hat roof” on the top, front area of the popsicle stick shape.
  • Go ahead and add the window, door and chimney pieces.
  • Finally – add a few winter stickers to the popsicle stick snowman house shape to really tie it all together.
  • Now allow it to dry completely before you display your craft stick winter house creation proudly in your home!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
