Fruit Tree Matching Game
Is it apple picking season yet???
My husband is finally getting some time off this month and we are planning on hitting up a local apple orchard in the neighboring state Colorado.
I really wanted to knock “apple picking” off our fall bucket list last year, but of course things just didn’t work out in our favor. So this year, I’m making it a mission come rain or shine, we are going to make it happen!
So in honor of our upcoming “adventure” I recently made this Pretend Play Fruit Tree Busy Bag Idea to get my son excited for the trip and I just HAD to share the idea with you all!
Anyways- for this DIY idea, I used recycled lids from my son’s favorite fruit pouches {seriously – my son would eat those things all day} and my laminator to make the entire thing durable.
Total cost? Almost free! Cause free is great, right? As for the “game” all my son has to do is match the colored lids to the “fruit” on the tree. It’s just a fine motor skills learning game, that is intended to keep him busy for a few minutes. I hope you get inspired to make one for your child too!
Find all the tips and steps below, for this Pretend Play Fruit Tree Busy Bag Idea! If you don’t mind, be sure to share some pictures of your game on our Facebook page for us to see it in action!!! #gluedtomycrafts

Directions:
- Using your scissors, first out your tree out from the green & brown cardstock paper.
- Glue those pieces on to another piece of cardstock {I did two trees/back to back}
- Next, punch out your circles from the colored cardstock. This is the “fruit.” You will want the circle to match the color of your lids.
- Glue those paper piece onto your tree from earlier, in various spots.
- Now run your finished piece through your laminator.
- To play, just have your child lay the lid on top of the matching circle.
- When not playing with your Pretend Play Fruit Tree game, simply store it all in a large plastic ziplock bag till next time!
