This simple Handprint Flamingo kid craft idea is super cute AND easy for all ages. In one simple afternoon, you can create it and have it displayed Valentine’s Day decorations. Not to mention – it’s a great keepsake to hold onto for years to come!
Here’s what you need to make your own flamingo handprint canvas:

Handprint Flamingo Craft Supplies:
- Medium Sized Blank Canvas {or plain white cardstock}
- Various Shades of Craft Paint {but pink, orange and black being important}
- Small Paper Plate
- Paint Brushes
- Baby Wipes
- Cute Kid w/Hands
Directions:
- First are the handprints. You will want to paint your child’s hands pink and have them press them on the canvas. {You may want to do some test runs on regular paper} You will want the fingers facing outward, while the palms of the hands, inward. This will be the body of flamingos. The fingers are their feathers.
- Next are the details. I painted the necks of the flamingos in a heart curve/pink and added a red heart above the heads. This was followed with an orange beak and black eyes for them. Then I painted the legs of the flamingo, orange.
- To finish off our artwork, I added a dot pattern around the edge of the canvas. This was done by using the bottom end of my foam paint brush. I just dabbed it in paint, then on the canvas. Then of course, once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
- To hang, you can easily hot glue some ribbon to the back. Don’t forget to add dates/ages/name on the back, so you remember when it was created!
