A handmade fox craft with a paint splat body, googly eyes, and paper ears, nose, and tail. Surrounded by autumn-themed paper cutouts. Text: PAINT SPLAT FOX FREE PRINTABLE!!!.

Welcome back to another paint splat adventure here at Glued To My Crafts! We are so glad you stopped by, because today we are making the cutest little woodland friend of the season: a Paint Splat Fox! This craft is perfect for a cozy autumn afternoon, a fall-themed classroom lesson, or just a rainy day when the kids need something fun to do with their hands.

The best part? The fox’s face is made using our favorite paint folding technique, so every single fox turns out one-of-a-kind. No two will ever look the same, and that is exactly what makes this project so special.

Oh, and did we mention there is a free printable included to make things extra easy? Let’s dig in!

Craft Supplies:

Gather up these simple materials before you get started:

  • Orange Tulip Puffy Paint
  • Kraft Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Fox Printable – from box.com – password is GLUEDTOMYCRAFTS2026
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils

UPDATE FOR 2026 – To reduce storage costs and download fees, we recently made some changes to our website. The password for all our files this year is GLUEDTOMYCRAFTS2026. Our printables are still free to you. Please see our FAQ page for more info on downloading our free files.

Directions:

  • Start by folding your square sheet of kraft paper in half, then open it back up. Squeeze a generous amount of the orange Tulip Puff Paint onto one side of the fold, right in the center. Don’t be shy here, a good blob of paint makes the best splat!
  • Fold the paper back over so the two sides press together. Gently rub and smoosh the paper with your hands to spread the paint around inside. Then slowly peel it open, and ta-da! You’ll have a symmetrical, textured orange print that looks just right for a fox face. Set it aside to dry.
  • While the paint dries, print out our free printable and cut out the fox pieces. You’ll need two triangle ears and one bushy tail. Color the ears and the tip of the tail with your orange crayon.
  • Once the paint is dry, glue the two orange triangle ears to the top corners of your kraft paper.
  • Cut a white heart shape from your white paper (the printable includes this too!).Glue it right in the center of the orange paint splat. This becomes your fox’s cheeks and muzzle.
  • Glue two googly eyes onto the top lobes of your heart. Then cut a tiny heart from your kraft paper and glue it to the pointed bottom of the white heart to make the fox’s little nose. So sweet!
  • Finish things off by gluing your fluffy fox tail to the side of your craft. Now your foxy friend is complete and ready to show off.
