Make Your Own Paper and Cupcake Liner Santa Ornament With Your Kids This Christmas Season!
Craft Supplies:
One of the best parts about making this craft is how simple and inexpensive the materials are. You might already have these on hand!
- Red Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Gold Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- School Glue
- Cotton Balls
- Large WHITE Cupcake Liners
- Printed Wallet Sized Photo
- optional – hole punch and string for hanging on the tree
Directions:
Now that you have your crafting materials ready, it’s time to bring Santa to life!
- First things first – the triangle that will become Santa’s body. Just cut out a large, basic triangle shape out of your red cardstock paper. Ours is about seven inches tall. You can however make this bigger, wider, smaller – whatever size you like. Remember – it doesn’t need to be perfect!
- Follow that up by gluing the white cupcake liner {un-flattened} to the center of the triangle shape.
- Next add your children’s trimmed down photo, to the center of the liner.
- Finally, embellish the shape to look like a Santa. Start off by adding his belt {from the black and gold paper.}
- Follow that up with the cotton balls. I went ahead and cut each cotton ball in half so it wasn’t so big for my design.
- Lastly, if desired, add a hole punch and some string to the top so you can hang it on the tree.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit and allow it to dry completely before displaying it proudly for all to see.
