Craft Supplies:
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Small Paper Plate
- Plastic Fork
- Craft Paint
- Gray Cardstock Paper
- Building Printable – on our landing page
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- optional material – loose craft glitter
Directions:
- First things first – print out the provided “building” printable on gray cardstock paper and use scissors to trim out the two shapes.
- Discard excess paper and set aside the two cutouts for now.
- Now grab your various colors of craft paint and squirt a small amount of each, on the paper plate.
- Next take your plastic fork and dip it in the paint. Make sure to cover the entire fork with paint for the best results. Show the kids how to rotate the fork to get an even coat.
- Press the fork onto the paper, twisting slightly to create a burst effect. Repeat this step with different colors and angles to fill the paper with vibrant fireworks. Encourage kids to overlap colors and patterns for a more dynamic look.
- If desired, have kids sprinkle loose craft glitter on top of the wet painted “fireworks.”
- To finish the Fork Painted Firework Skyline craft, glue the building cutouts in place.
- Add other embellishments you see fit.
- Allow it to dry completely and then display proudly!!!
- Remember – this craft is also perfect for New Year’s Eve as well!

One of the best aspects of this craft is its flexibility. Allow kids to experiment with different techniques, such as using the fork’s edge for finer lines or combining two colors on one fork for a multi-colored effect. The possibilities are endless!
