Do you want to get creative with your family this Thanksgiving season, but don’t know where to start? Why not try out a fun and easy paper turkey craft using some items from around your home?
Today’s toilet roll turkey activity is the perfect way to bring joy and festive cheer into your holiday season.
It’s an excellent activity for kids of all ages (even teenagers!) that will get everyone into a festive mood in no time – it requires minimal materials and basic instructions, so anyone can join in on the crafting fun!
So grab those empty cardboard tubes lying around the house and let’s get started creating!
Get creative and have some fun before Thanksgiving dinner! This simple toilet paper roll turkey craft is a perfect way to spend time together and make a one of kind piece as well!
Craft Supplies:
- Toilet Paper Roll
- Turkey Printable – on our landing page
- White Cardstock Paper
- Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
- Craft Scissors
- Stapler
- Googly Eyes
- Embellishments
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
Directions:
- First things first – flatten out your cardboard tube and place a staple each end, to make a basic rectangle shape. This will be the turkey’s body.
- Set it aside.
- Now grab your printed printable and choice of coloring materials.
- Color in ONE of the turkey head shapes from the printable and trim it out afterwards.
- At this point in time, add on the googly eye as well.
- When ready, go ahead and staple that head piece, to one end of the flattened cardboard piece from earlier.
- Now for an optional step – you can either use a plain paper handprint cutout OR make a painted handprint for the turkey’s wing. The choice is yours!
- Once you have the wing/feathers done, staple it to the center of your toilet paper roll.
- Finally, staple ONE jumbo popsicle stick to the back/on the bottom of the decorated cardboard roll. This way you can hold him like a puppet.
- And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying/playing with your cute little turkey proudly!!!
