Paper Plate Nativity Wreath Craft

Get your kids in the Christmas spirit with this fun and festive paper plate nativity wreath craft! It’s easy enough for even the littlest hands to help and will make for a beautiful holiday decoration to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Free Printable – on our landing page
  • Crayons
  • LARGE Brown Cupcake Liners
  • Stapler
  • Craft Ribbon

Directions:

  • First things first – cut out the center of your paper plate, leaving a simple ring shape for the wreath.
  • Discard the center of the paper plate you just cut out.
  • Now grab your craft paint and paint brush. Use a small amount to paint the paper plate completely brown. Set aside when done.
  • Next grab the printable, along with your crayons.
  • Color in one of the babies and a star.
  • Trim them both out with scissors. Save the remaining pieces for repeating the craft later on.
  • Now for the bed of straw. Grab your three cupcake liners and stapler.
  • Flatten each set out with your hands and stack them on top of each other.
  • Use the stapler to secure them together in the center.
  • Next use the scissors to cut a simple fringe around the edge.
  • Use your fingers to “fluff” it up and give it even more dimension.
  • Then use your stapler again to staple it to the painting paper plate.
  • Finally, add the star and baby Jesus cutouts to complete the craft {the baby on top of the cupcake liners, while the star on the opposite end.}
  • Go ahead and also add a ribbon “hanger” to the back of the finished piece.
  • Display your beautiful Nativity wreath in your home or on the front door proudly for ALL to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
