Popsicle Stick Christmas Flower Bouquet Craft

Get your kids in the Christmas spirit with this adorable and festive “Christmas flower bouquet” craft idea! Create a bouquet of holiday cheer with popsicle sticks, glue, and some creative decorations!

Craft Supplies:

  • Six Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 6 per craft
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Gold Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • Begin by gluing three jumbo popsicle sticks together to form a simple triangle.
  • Next, squeeze two shades of craft paint onto a paper plate.
  • Paint the entire triangle red, and coat the remaining three popsicle sticks green on one side. Set everything aside to dry completely.
  • While the paint dries, cut out the handprint flowers and any additional paper elements. Trace your child’s hand three times on white paper (or any color of your choice) and carefully cut out each handprint.
  • Using red, black, and gold paper, cut out a large red triangle, along with Santa’s belt from the black and gold paper.
  • Once everything is ready, assemble your craft. Help your child glue the paper elements to the popsicle stick triangle, starting with the back of the triangle and layering from there. The green popsicle sticks will act as stems, while the handprints will form the flowers. Handprint Christmas Flower
  • For the final touch, add any embellishments, such as poinsettia stickers, to enhance the design. Allow the craft to dry completely before displaying it with pride!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
