THINK AHEAD TO FEBRUARY —> Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck
Directions:
- First things first – get the glue gun hot and ready!
- Now grab your THREE jumbo popsicle sticks, TWO mini sized ones and the glue gun {the popsicle stick amounts are per holiday pickup truck you are going to make today}
- Lay the three large ones next to each other, one by one, on a flat surface.
- Now grab your other two mini popsicle sticks and hot glue them the other direction to create a rectangle shape.
- Set aside to let it dry a bit. Repeat for each gingerbread cookie truck ornament you want to make today.
- While that is drying, grab all your pieces of cardstock paper and the scissors. Cut out the various elements for your truck {the wheels, the bed of the truck, a window and head light.} I went ahead and use peppermint candy stickers for my wheels but you can of course change that up as well!
- Go ahead and also cut out anything else you see fit for your truck.
- Set all these aside till later.
- Once the popsicle stick shape is dry enough, go ahead and squirt some craft paint on the paper plate.
- Grab the paint brush and paint the flat side of the wood shape, with ONE coat of LIGHT BROWN craft paint.
- Then while the paint is still wet, go ahead and shake some loose, white craft glitter on top to give the “gingerbread cracker truck” some dimension.
- Shake off excess glitter.
- Now take the black Sharpie marker to add a few dotted “holes” on the craft stick shape, to give it even MORE of a gingerbread cracker feel.
- Now we are heading towards the last steps! Go ahead and glue the cardstock pieces you made earlier, in place on the craft stick shape, as well as any other embellishments you see fit {like peppermint wheels or a Christmas tree to the back of the truck!}
- To finish off the Popsicle Stick Gingerbread Holiday Truck, cut off a short piece of twine {or ribbon} and hot glue it to the back so you can hang it on the tree with ease.
- Also go ahead and also use some Sharpie markers to draw a “Santa driver” in the window of your truck.
- When it’s all done and dry, display it or play with proudly!
