Handprint Gnome Leprechaun - You Are My Lucky Charm Keepsake

Craft Supplies:

  • LUCKY CHARM PRINTABLE
  • Color Printer
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • Kraft Cardstock Paper
  • Green Scrapbook Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Craft Scissors
  • Glue Stick, Tape Runner or Handheld Stapler

Directions:

  • First things first, if you haven’t already, print out our free “lucky charm” file {listed above in the supply list} on a single sheet of white cardstock.
  • Next up – trace your child’s hand THREE times on your orange cardstock.
  • When done tracing, trim out each piece with your paper scissors. Each one will be a beard for your leprechaun gnomes.
  • Set those aside.
  • Now grab your green patterned scrapbook paper.
  • Cut out THREE large triangle hats. You can do all of them the same color or mix-match them like I did.
  • Finally – cut out a small oval nose shape, for EACH gnome, from the kraft colored cardstock.
  • Now you are ready to assemble it all together.
  • Start off my gluing down the THREE orange handprint cutouts, in a row, on the printed white cardstock paper. You want the fingertips facing downward but make sure you DON’T cover up the printed words on the bottom.
  • Follow up that step by gluing down {securing} the hats on the palms of the handprint cutouts.
  • Then glue down the oval noses to complete each gnome.
  • To finish off your Paper Handprint Leprechaun Gnome Keepsake, write your name in the provided space and add any other embellishments you see fit, to give it that St. Patrick’s Day spin! We added clovers on our paper hats but you can add ANYTHING you like!
  • Then display your St. Patrick’s Day gnome masterpiece proudly for ALL to see!!
  • Don’t forget to snap a few pictures of your finished paper leprechaun gnome keepsake on your phone and tag us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts

Some Last Notes:

  • If you don’t have a printer to take advantage of our free provided file, no worries! You can always hand-write the words on paper or use scrapbook letter stickers instead.
  • You can also use the phrase “LUCKY to GNOME you” or “Don’t you GNOME how lucky I am to have you!” if you are looking for a different twist on our idea.
  • Teachers – this personalized handprint gnome leprechaun craft would also make for an adorable rainbow display hung up outside the classroom or on an art wall. Right?
  • Instead of paper for the hats and handprint beards, you can also use craft felt for a fun twist on the craft. Just use thick tacky glue or a stapler to attach to the printable.
  • Don’t want to do paper handprint cutouts or maybe your child’s hand is too big? No worries! You can also use ORANGE colored paper doilies for the beards instead. Similar to our gnome paper doily cards we shared a few years back.
