A popsicle stick Christmas caravan decorated with a felt tree, paper wreath, twinkling lights, and festive red and green stripes sits on a teal background with yellow stars.

The holiday season is all about creativity, festive decorations, and adding personal touches to your celebrations. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by crafting your very own popsicle stick caravan ornament? This DIY ornament is a fun project for families, kids, or anyone who loves making unique, handmade decorations for their tree.

This guide will walk you through the process of crafting a whimsical popsicle stick Christmas caravan ornament step by step. With just a few materials and a pinch of holiday cheer, you’ll have a personalized ornament that adds charm to your seasonal décor.

A popsicle stick Christmas camper ornament, shaped like a festive trailer with lights, a wreath, and a tree on top, hangs on the Christmas tree alongside other ornaments and twinkling lights in the background.

This is the perfect craft to make if you’re looking for a quick and easy project that will add some festive cheer to your home this Christmas. All you need are some popsicle sticks, glue, and a little bit of creativity! We show you how to make this adorable ornament in just a few simple steps.

Craft Supplies:

Before you begin, gather the following materials:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 4 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Low-Temp Hot Glue Gun
  • Small Paper Plate
  • White Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • Embellishments
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Thin Twine or Ribbon

Directions:

  1. Start by gathering your supplies: FOUR jumbo popsicle sticks, TWO mini popsicle sticks, and a hot glue gun. (These amounts are per Christmas camper you plan to make!)
  2. Heat up your glue gun and get it ready.
  3. Lay the four jumbo popsicle sticks side by side on a flat surface.
  4. Take the two mini popsicle sticks and glue them horizontally across the jumbo sticks to form a sturdy door-like shape. Set it aside to dry.
  5. Once the popsicle stick base has dried, paint it with white craft paint. Squirt some paint onto a paper plate and use a brush to coat the sticks evenly. Let it dry completely before moving on.
  6. While the paint dries, grab your cardstock paper and scissors. Cut out the following pieces for your camper:
  7. One wheel and a small rectangular tow hitch from black cardstock.
  8. A door and a window from gray cardstock.
  9. A half-circle from white cardstock for the camper’s roof (this will go on the back).
  10. Two thin stripes from red and green cardstock for added detail.
  11. Once the paint is dry, assemble your camper! Use adhesive to glue the cardstock embellishments onto the painted popsicle stick base. Feel free to add extra details like a Christmas wreath sticker on the door or festive lights drawn with Sharpie markers.
  12. To finish, attach a Christmas tree sticker to the top of the camper using tape runner adhesive. If you’d like, you can also add a ribbon loop to the back to turn it into a tree ornament.
  13. Once your Popsicle Stick Christmas Caravan is complete, proudly display it or use it as a fun holiday decoration. Don’t forget to share pictures of your creation with us using #gluedtomycrafts!
  14. Enjoy crafting and spreading holiday cheer!
