Shredded Paper Llama Craft
At Glued To My Crafts, I absolutely LOVE the thought of sharing a cheap craft idea with my readers. It’s one of my goals I strive for EVERY time I hit publish.
Through the many years of building my website, I have learned that not only do I personally not like spending tons of money on a kid craft idea but neither do my lovely readers. Some of my most popular craft posts have either involved nearly free or inexpensive craft supplies to complete the tutorial.
YES everyone loves the thought of what they can create with their children but most likely it goes straight into the trash shortly after it’s made. So on that note, why should you spend a lot of my money in the first place to pull it off? Doesn’t that seem wasteful? Plus if an art project involves a lot of steps or help from an adult – forget about it! I’m out!
So what if you told you that today’s crinkle paper llama craft idea is NEARLY on the free spectrum AND it only has about THREE easy steps to it. Would that get you excited?! Plus it’s great for ANY day of the year crafting! From rainy days to a good story time activity – this craft will fit that theme!
Many of us already have sandwich bags in our pantry right now {especially during the school season} and with one quick trip to the dollar store for some crinkle paper {aka – the fur of the llama craft} you will be well on your way to pulling this idea together in no time. Just stuff the bag and customize it to make your llama friend come to life!
On that note,… my super dear crafty friends, why not up-cycle that “messy” paper and make some adorable llamas instead?!
I’m plugging this as toddler friendly craft {because it’s really easy for their little hands} but older kids would probably enjoy this idea as well! Plus you can customize them and make them have your own personality by just changing up the colors!
Find all the crafty details below! Happy crafting my friends and may your afternoon be extra creative with the help of us!

- Stuff the sandwich baggie with the shredded paper. Just a handful inside the bag until it’s full.
- Now seal off your baggie at the top. Set it aside.
- Grab your sheets of cardstock paper and craft scissors.
- Cut out a large oval shape for the llama’s nose, some fluffy hair and two pointy ears.
- Use the black Sharpie marker to draw on a mouth & nose on the oval shape you just made.
- Now go ahead and staple/glue your paper pieces on place, on the stuffed crinkle paper baggie.
- To finish off the Plastic Baggie and Crinkle Paper Llama craft, glue the TWO large wiggle eyes onto the baggie, in the designated spot.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit.
- Then display your paper llama friend for ALL to see and don’t forget to share a picture with us on your social media sites!
- BTW – instead of using crinkle paper, think of other ways you can “fill” up your baggie. Grab large craft pom poms, leaves from outside, fabric scraps – let those creative juices soar as you make your own llama come to life!
