Cupcake Liner Waffle Card Craft

Sometimes, the most charming crafts come from the simplest materials. Cupcake liners – those colorful circles of paper that usually line a muffin tin – may not seem like art supplies.

But when you see the wide eyes of a child marvel at the transformation of such mundane objects into these adorable waffles cards, you’ll understand the magic behind this craft!

Whether you’re a teacher looking for a quick classroom project or a parent hoping to spark creativity at home, this craft is an excellent choice.

Craft Supplies:

  • Tan/Brown Cupcake Liners
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Gold Glitter Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Markers
  • Large Wiggle Eyes

You can find ALL our favorite craft supplies via our AMAZON SHOP link!

Directions:

  • First things first – grab your light brown cupcake liner and flatten it out with your fingers.
  • Put some glue on the back of your flattened cupcake liner piece and glue it in the center of a single sheet of colored cardstock paper.
  • If the edges are sticking up, add more glue so it really sticks down on the paper.
  • Next up – the embellishments. Grab a black or brown Sharpie marker.
  • Make lines up and down on the cupcake liner, to make the grooves of the waffle.
  • Now grab your gold glitter scrapbook paper.
  • Cut out a square for the “butter” of the pancake.
  • Glue it in place in the center of the “waffle” design. This is your waffle friend’s nose.
  • Follow that up with the two large wiggle eyes glued on.
  • Now grab the black puffy paint and draw on a smile for your waffle friend.
  • Add any other embellishments you desire AND write a quirky “waffle” themed message around the finished design.
  • Now set aside your cupcake liner waffle card masterpieces to let them dry completely before gifting them away!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
