Cupcake Liner Waffle Friend Card Craft

Do you have a friend who loves breakfast as much as I do? Then you should most definitely recreate this breakfast treat turned handmade card for them!

Keep scrolling to check out our Cupcake Liner Waffle Friend tutorial come to life below!

Cupcake Liner Waffle Friend Card - Kid Craft

Waffle Card Made From A Cupcake Liner

Confession. I absolutely LOVE breakfast food. Like ALOT.

That’s the first thing I always request when my husband asks “where do you want to eat?” Unlike some people {mainly women who can’t make up their mind} when someone says you pick, I say. Breakfast. Hands down. Whether it’s a chain or a local place…. let’s go!

I could easily eat eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes… pretty much all day long. Breakfast is always on my mind so that’s probably why I was recently inspired by it and came up with this cupcake liner waffle idea.

Today’s latest handmade card idea is actually a quick spin off of our popular cupcake liner pancake friend card tutorial from last year. I only changed ONE thing from the original tutorial but it really makes a difference.

Adding just a few thin lines with a brown Sharpie marker, you can make this breakfast themed card come to life within minutes! Then pair your paper waffle card with a restaurant gift card, slide it on a “breakfast in bed” tray or tuck it into a gift basket full of baked goods. Whatever your crafty heart desires to do with the finished card pieces, I sure hope you enjoy making it and of course – gifting it too!

These smiling paper waffle friend cards are just as clever as our previous post and super easy to recreate too! Be sure to give them your own spin and personality as well! Happy crafting {and gifting} my friends!

These smiling cupcake liner waffle friend cards are so clever to give to someone who loves breakfast foods! You can give them your own spin as well!

Craft Supplies:

  • Tan/Brown Cupcake Liners – one per waffle card
  • Thick Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow/Gold Glitter Scrapbook Paper
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Glue Stick
  • Black or Brown Sharpie Markers
  • Large Wiggle Eyes – two per waffle card
  • Black Puffy Paint

You can find ALL our favorite craft supplies via our AMAZON SHOP link!

Directions:

  • First make your card and card front. I used my paper trimmer and went with a square card. You just need to make sure your tan cupcake liner will fit to the front of the card you make.
  • Now you are ready for the “waffle” part. Grab your brown cupcake liner and flatten it out with your fingers.
  • Put glue on the back of the flattened liner and place it in the center of the card.
  • Use your fingers to flatten out the cupcake liner some more and make sure it sticks to the card.
  • Add more glue to the back of areas that aren’t sticking to the card.
  • Next up – the embellishments. Grab a black or brown Sharpie marker.
  • Make lines up and down on the cupcake liner, to make the grooves of the waffle.
  • Now grab your gold glitter scrapbook paper.
  • Cut out a square for the “butter” of the pancake.
  • Glue it in place in the center of the “waffle” design. This is your waffle friend’s nose.
  • Follow that up with the two large wiggle eyes glued on.
  • Now grab the black puffy paint and draw on a smile for your waffle friend.
  • Add any other embellishments, if desired.
  • Now set aside your cupcake liner waffle card masterpieces to let them dry completely before gifting them away!
