Pretend Paper Breakfast – Kid Craft Idea
Today’s “pretend paper breakfast” themed kid craft idea is actually TOTALLY inspired by my son. No lie or fluffy words with that statement.
He came up with this idea one day in our little craft area {unprompted} and I ran with it from there. And of course – I had to share the details on Glued To My Crafts, in hopes of inspiring you as well.
And small confession or just a run fact about me – I LOVE breakfast food.
Seriously. I could eat eggs ALL day long if I had the choice. Plus I like breakfast because it’s totally acceptable to eat dessert first {hello – who can say no to a donut?!} And don’t get me started that morning coffee is an important food group – LOL!

Anyways – like I said, this craft idea is totally inspired by my son {probably because we have been doing ALOT of breakfast dates this summer break!}
He initially made the yellow piece of paper in the pictures you see {he made eggs and bacon} and I decided to share an image of how you can use a paper plate for this craft as well. Both ways are super simple and really inexpensive.
There is no fancy step-by-step tutorial on this one but hopefully my images of our two finished pieces can inspire you. Just grab some various colored sheets of paper, markers, scissors, glue etc. and build your own “pretend” breakfast dish today. Heck – you could even pull out the pom poms, glitter and sequins for this craft idea.
I really want to leave this tutorial as an “open ended” craft, so your child can let their imagination really flow and create a piece that represents what THEY want to have for breakfast. Maybe just lay out the supplies with a paper plate and say “craft me up a delicious breakfast.”
And remember – it doesn’t need to be eggs and bacon either. They can draw/decorate donuts, tan circle pancakes – whatever their heart desires! Just encourage them along the way. Plus since I like extending the fun – maybe you can make breakfast together afterwards. Maybe mimic what they just crafted up :-)
Happy crafting with your littles, my friends! Don’t share forget to share your breakfast creations with us on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram. You can also snap a picture and use our special brand hashtag #gluedtomycrafts to share with me!
