DIY Mermaid Gift Bags For Your Next Party!
Today’s DIY Mermaid Gift Bags tutorial is nothing elaborate or really hard to recreate.
Like most of our tutorials on Glued To My Crafts, it’s just something I came up with on the fly, within fifteen minutes and wanted to share with you all today! I wouldn’t lead you in the wrong direction, so don’t be overwhelmed at the thought of this “being too hard” because it’s not! It looks fancier than the steps do 😉
If you would like to recreate this DIY mermaid inspired gift bag idea, all you need is a simple, plain KRAFT/TAN gift bag {Dollar Tree!} green/purple cardstock, a glue stick, hot glue gun, crayons and some pearl sticker embellishments for the necklace.
You can find more details and a simple picture below, as an example of what to do and/or use!
Happy crafting {and gifting} my dear friends! If you don’t mind, I would LOVE to see a picture of your finished gift bag that looks like a mermaid {before you give it away} on our Facebook page to check out! Can’t wait to see how you give it your style & personality! #gluedtomycrafts

THE MERMAID GIFT BAG HOW-TO:
First, simply measure/cut out a simple square shape for the mermaid tail from the green cardstock. Use a crayon to draw “scales” all over it.
Now adhere to one side of the gift bag. This piece will go on the bottom of the gift bag so be sure to leave some empty “space” above the green cardstock/leave some gift bag exposed for the rest of the mermaid’s body.
Next – go ahead and also cut out a tail from the remaining green cardstock. Use the crayon again for that scales. Adhere the tail to the side of the gift bag with a little bit of hot glue.
Next cut out TWO seashell “bra” pieces from the purple cardstock. Adhere those to the gift bag. Use a crayon to draw on some details as well.
Finish off your mermaid themed gift bag by adding some pearl stickers for the necklace.
Then stuff your bag with your gift and add some fluffed up purple/green tissue paper inside. Now gift away!
