
No need to be SNAPPY when it comes to your child’s classroom valentines this year. I have ANOTHER paper heart doily tutorial for you guys today and this one is not something to be CRABBY over today!
While February is known as the month of love, crafts and kids, it also stirs up feelings of dread in many people who still haven’t figured out a Valentine’s Day project or gift for their child’s classroom party. But fear not, procrastinating parent – I’ve got the perfect last minute Valentine’s craft that is sure to delight both you and your kid’s classmates: paper heart doily crab cards!
In under an hour, you and your little one can transform a stack of construction paper, some glue, googly eyes, and paper doilies into a crafty crustacean creation that all the other kids will crab-solutely love receiving.
With this simple but visually appealing DIY Valentine card idea, you’ll feel good about your kid’s classroom contribution and they’ll feel proud about their handmade gift. So grab your supplies and let’s get crabbin’!
Love the idea of a handmade valentine card, but hate the prep? This fun and easy paper heart doily crab valentine is ready in less than 15 minutes!
Craft Supplies:
- Small Red Heart Doilies
- Cardstock Paper
- Adhesive or Glue Stick
- Craft Scissors
- Large Glue Dots
- Sharpie Marker
- Small Wiggle Eyes
- Chocolate Heart Candies
Directions:
- First things first – use adhesive to adhere your red paper heart doily to the center of a single sheet of cardstock.
- Next take your red Sharpie marker and draw lines for the arms, legs and eyes on the crab. Use my picture for an example.
- Next glue on the wiggle eyes.
- Now the final step – add other embellishments you see fit, along with your chocolate heart CLAW candies in each corner of the Valentine {use large glue dots for this step!}
- Finally – it’s time to your creation gift away!
