Popsicle Stick Giraffe - Kid Craft Puppet

This kid craft is so much fun and perfect for any time of year! All you need are popsicle sticks, glue, paint, and a googly eye.

Follow the simple step-by-step tutorial to see how it’s done. Your kids will love this adorable giraffe craft!

This adorable popsicle stick giraffe puppet combines simple materials with endless entertainment possibilities. This step-by-step guide walks you through creating a charming giraffe puppet using common household items. Best of all, this craft takes just 30 minutes and works perfectly for children ages 5 and up.

Craft Supplies:

Before starting your popsicle stick giraffe puppet, gather these supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Yellow Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paint Brushes
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Large Wiggle Eyes – 1 per craft

Directions:

  • Grab your popsicle sticks {one jumbo and three mini} and glue.
  • Glue together the craft sticks {using my picture as example} to look like the neck and head of the giraffe.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each puppet you want to make today.
  • Next grab your craft paint and squirt it on the paper plate.
  • Go ahead and paint your popsicle stick shape completely yellow.
  • Once done, using the other end of the paint brush, drawing on little black dots all over your painted piece.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now you are ready for the giraffe horns. Grab your black cardstock and cut out some small horns for the top of the craft.
  • Finish off the Popsicle Stick Giraffe craft by gluing on your wiggle eye and cardstock paper piece.
  • Then set in an undisturbed area for it to dry completely, before displaying/playing with proudly!!!

  • 1 Jumbo Popsicle Stick
  • 3 Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • Craft Paint
  • Cardstock Paper
  • 1 Large Wiggle Eyes
  • 1 Small Paper Plate
  • Paint Brushes
  • School Glue
  • 1 Scissors

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

  • Grab your popsicle sticks {one jumbo and three mini} and glue.
