Popsicle Stick Train Conductor Hat - Kid Craft

This is one of the cutest craft tutorial I have designed in a long while and it’s easy enough to make with your kids!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 9 per craft
  • Blue Craft Paint
  • White Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Small Paper Plate
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First things first – squirt your two craft paint colors on your paper plate.
  • Now lay out your NINE popsicle sticks on your working surface.
  • Divide them into two groups.
  • Paint FIVE of the craft sticks white, while the remaining FOUR you will paint them blue.
  • Once done painting, allow them to dry a bit.
  • Next up – grab your school glue.
  • Finish up the craft by gluing your NINE popsicle sticks together to look like a hat {7 next to each and two across on the bottom, in a rotating pattern} to represent the patterned colors of the hat. You want the rim of the hat to be TWO white painted popsicle sticks.
  • Again, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then add other embellishments {like glitter for a one-of-a-kind look} and display proudly for all to see!!!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
