Craft Supplies:

Here’s a list of everything you’ll need to complete this craft:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft

Directions:

  • Begin by taking three popsicle sticks per flamingo and gluing them together in a triangular shape.
  • Set the triangles aside and allow them to dry completely.
  • Repeat this step for each flamingo you plan to create.
  • Once the glue has dried, have the children paint the popsicle stick triangles entirely pink.
  • Again, set these aside to dry thoroughly.
  • Next, take your cardstock paper and cut out a triangular piece to fit inside the popsicle stick frame. Additionally, cut a long flamingo beak from black cardstock.
  • To assemble the Popsicle Stick Flamingos, have the children glue the cardstock pieces onto the popsicle stick triangle. They can also add any extra decorations they like to personalize their flamingos.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
