Apple Pie Baking Sensory Bin For Fall Celebrations!

Today we are kick-starting the theme of Thanksgiving off on the blog, with this EASY Apple Pie Themed Sensory Bin.

As you may know – sensory bins are one of my favorite things to pull together lately for my son. Apple pie happens to be one of my favorite things to make {and eat} on Thanksgiving day, so it only seemed fitting for the season.

The supplies for this apple themed bin are pretty inexpensive and of course – super easy to pull together. Best part – it’s fun, has a learning aspect AND it’s calorie free too!

Apple Pie Themed Sensory Bin For Fall Celebrations!

PLEASE SUPERVISE CHILDREN WHILE THEY PLAY WITH THEIR BIN. CERTAIN ITEMS CAN BE CHOKING HAZARDS SO PLEASE MAKE GOOD CHOICES OF WHAT YOU INCLUDE IN YOUR BIN

Bin Supplies:

  • Large Plastic Bin
  • Dried Oatmeal
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Wood Slices {I found mine at Hobby Lobby}
  • Red/Green Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brushes
  • Metal Pie Pan
  • Various Baking Utensils

Directions:

  • First paint your wood slices with the craft paint, to look like apple pieces.
  • Set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Once dry place your oatmeal, cinnamon sticks and apple pieces in your plastic bin.
  • Throw in some baking tools like a pie pan, scoop, measuring cups etc.
  • Then let your child’s imagination go wild, while they “bake” up their pies!
  • That’s it! Store away and pull out again on a rainy day!
